The Design Museum
In 2023 Matthew was commissioned to design a top floor space
within the Design Museum developed in 2016 by architect John Pawson.
The brief was to convert an underused space into a vibrant, inviting
and comfortable space for the design community visiting the museum
to enjoy. Whilst respecting the buildings striking architectural qualities
Matthew took the Holland Park views as his inspiration. A palette of rich
greens with lush textiles, an artful mix of mid century furniture,
natural materials and hand blown glass lighting were used to create
a welcoming and multifunction new space for the museum’s visitors to enjoy.
